Tonight, Donald Trump’s incredible election campaign ended, culminating in his election as the 47th president of the United States, in which I was fortunate to participate as a Republican voter – I have lived in the States for 20 years – and an Italian congressman. The Tycoon proved that the U.S. is still the land of opportunity, the place where those who have an idea and fight for it can win. It is time for Europe to dialogue with President Trump in order to build solid relations, fight and push away those fears that Democrats and conservative haters would like to feed, without understanding the damage they could do to international markets. This election definitively puts an end to globalization and will provide a way to work on peace, which is fundamental for our societies and also to restore economic balances that have been blown due to various conflicts.
