The affair is linked to inspections, with Guardia di Finanza and Carabinieri, initiated by the Farnesina after a complaint filed by Andrea Di Giuseppe, an Fdi deputy elected abroad in the North and Central America constituency. Following reports of Di Giuseppe, who also suffered threats after also accusing some Italian municipalities of identifying, for a fee, false ancestors of those residing in South America and applying for citizenship, Premier Giorgia Meloni had also filed a complaint with the National Anti-Mafia Directorate. Now citizenship for the five linked to Hezbollah will be revoked, but the checks are not yet completed.
