In Corriere della Sera, an in-depth look at the vote abroad ahead of the Justice Referendum and my agenda for the Budget Law to correct existing distortions.
The vote of millions of Italians abroad cannot and must not be a source of doubt or uncertainty: our fellow citizens who do not reside in Italy have the right to express their choice and be certain that it is worth as much as the residents’ vote.
This is why my agenda, approved by the Government, aims to restore justice for the vote of Italians abroad, taking advantage of the places that Embassies and Consulates can make available to organize voting operations in every foreign country in a safe and transparent manner.
Enough with the ever-delivered packages, enough with the votes of people who are no longer with us but remain registered in the voting registers to add votes to this or that party. Italians abroad deserve dignity, and their vote must be free and secure.
