Recent referendums have shone the spotlight on a now chronic problem: the Italians’ vote abroad, increasingly polluted by “strategic” delays and suspicious interferences. Is it really a coincidence that the reception of electoral envelopes continues to function in a sob, perhaps based on the return and the interests at stake? And why, on time, certain union slogans – always the same – seem to move in the election booth more than the citizens themselves
Not to mention the unresolved presence of deceased people on the electoral lists: who votes in their place? And, while we’re at it, who is unduefully collecting their pensions? These are heavy interrogations, uncomfortable facts that I reported before entering Parliament, and that I will reiterate today with more strength.
