In Panama I had the great pleasure of speaking with Monsignor Paul Richard Gallagher, Secretary of the Holy See for relations with States and International Organizations.
It was an opportunity to participate in the celebration – together with the Italian and Catholic communities – of one hundred years of diplomatic relations between the Vatican and the isthmus country and to discuss the Church guidelines strongly desired by Pope Francis: the fight against poverty material and spiritual, peace and building bridges through dialogue.
The Vatican speaks many languages, but Italian is that of the Church of Rome that unites our countrymen around the world. A thought to all the men of the Church who, every day, work to make the world a better place and who make our compatriots feel less distant from home.
