As an Italian and an American citizen, I look at these 250 years of the United States with gratitude and respect.
America has never been just a nation.
It was – and still is – an idea: that destiny is not written at birth, that courage can change the life of a man, a family, a people.
For us Italian-Americans, this story has an even deeper meaning.
Our fathers came here often with little, but with everything that was really needed: work, faith, family, sacrifice, pride.
They built houses, businesses, communities.
They defended freedom, honored Italy, and helped make America great.
Today, in front of this skyline that continues to rise, I feel something very simple:
America is not great because it never falls. It’s big because it always finds the strength to get up.
Happy 250th Birthday, America.
Built by courage. Destined to lead.
