Government: Rampelli (Fd’I), deplorable insults to Di Giuseppe, orchestrated smear campaign

“The insults and threats that have been reaching Andrea Di Giuseppe since yesterday are deplorable, while those that reach his children are even worse. The forfeit-orchestrated smear campaign demonstrates how many deviant interests we have affected. People who have made mercimony of Italian citizenship and perhaps even of the vote of Italians abroad have been served with the approval of the law’. This was stated by Fabio Rampelli, vice-president of the Chamber of Deputies, regarding the threats suffered by the Fratelli d’Italia deputy Andrea Di Giuseppe, protagonist of the battle against the trafficking of Italian passports which gave rise to investigations by the judiciary, who spoke in explanation of vote on the conversion bill. “We have affected those who have abused this system, preventing them from voting over a hundred theoretically resident abroad, but in reality widely deceased. It would be interesting to identify the parties that obtained significant electoral advantages from this mechanism,” adds Rampelli. “Citizenship applications based on mysterious great-great-grandparents, sometimes not even their own, can no longer be submitted by financing a shameful racket, with the result of blowing up the queue for entry into Italy and Europe for those who were ready to make use of those flaws of the system. Anomalies highlighted to Italy also by third countries that suffered the consequences. Di Giuseppe, after having lifted the lid on the pot of the illicit trafficking of visas, passports and residence permits, still under guard for having had the courage to denounce the person responsible for this racket in Italy and abroad, defended the just cause serving Italy and our national interests, stopping a big scam that everyone knew about and on which no one intervened for decades. My support goes to him and that of the Brothers of Italy as well as the thanks of all those citizens penalized because they respect the rules and defend the value of true Italianness in the world”, he concludes.
