Italian arrest Miami: Di Giuseppe, we follow the story closely

1:28 p.m. (AGI) – Perugia, May 5 – “We are following the story closely and will continue to follow it.” This was claimed by FdI MP Andrea Di Giuseppe, who, in recent days, together with the consul, met with Umbrian student Matteo Falcinelli and his mother Vlasta Studenticova. Matteo Falcinelli in a video is hogtied by cops during an arrest that took place in February outside a Miami club. “I have lived in Miami for 22 years, and from what is my direct knowledge, the Miami police operate in fairness and within the law. The dramatic images in the video highlight possible misconduct, but of two officers, not of the police in general, who, I am convinced, if there is a legal basis, will also independently ascertain truth and responsibility,” the congressman adds further. “To the boy and his mother, I expressed our sympathy and full readiness should they wish to pursue legal action once the criminal case is concluded, to follow up on the case, always in compliance with local laws.” (AGI) PG5/RED
